Advantages and Disadvantages of MDF Board

1. MDF is a man-made board made of wood fiber or other plant fiber and applied with urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesives. Because of its soft quality, impact resistance, high strength, uniform density after pressing, it is easy to reprocess, but the disadvantage is poor water resistance (MR MDF).

2. MDF is easy to be painted and processed. Various paints and veneers can be evenly coated on the density board. It is the preferred substrate for paint effects.

3. All kinds of wood veneer, tape film, veneer, light metal sheet and other materials can be pasted on the surface of MDF. The physical properties are excellent, the material is uniform, and there is no problem of dehydration.

4. MDF is dense in material, stable in performance, firm in edge, easy to shape, avoids problems such as decay and moth, and is superior to particle board in terms of bending strength and impact strength.

5. The biggest disadvantage of MDF is that it is not moisture-proof and will swell when it meets water. When using density skirting boards, door casing boards, and window sill boards, you should pay attention to painting all six sides so that they will not be deformed.
